The fact that this is a recent thing is also a factor. If it was figuring out the drop time I would imagine it had been done long ago? You don't come up with that idea overnight. The same can be said for the multiple tag theory. Why now?

Pseudorandom works as a proxy for random until someone works out why it is only PSEUDOrandom ...

This is true. Even something which is labelled as random can be seeded or triggered with the same factor each time. I don't think this is about knowing the drop time for a given domain. I don't think he does. I think the domains are dropping at random times in relation to what domain drops when but I think there is a "pattern" to the drop times, regardless of domain. As was said above, if you knew there was X seconds between every drop on a given day, the drops would indeed be random as you wouldn't know which domain was dropping when but changing your script to burst 1 second before to 1 second after this time would yield a massive advantage.

That doesn't change the fact that every drop catcher has access to the same system/information

That's not exactly true though some have drop data from multiple tags that can be factored into statistical calcultions

One person catching the best of the bunch doesn't prove that it isn't random though? Figuring out interval times or even having more tags could be all that's needed to give Denys the advantage.

He has more data to put into the statistics. The more data you can analyse the more accurate the result.

If it is random. He's using multiple tags / quota or he's bursting at intervals based on factors which seed the "random" schedule such as intervals, reg dates, domain length or whatever else.

If it's not random, he's simply figured it out with time and statistical analysis. I can't speak for everyone as I've only been drop catching 3 months or so and up until the past couple of weeks it seemed to be different tags catching each time. I've never bothered looking at figuring out the drop time until I opened this thread and read some of the theories. Now it's of interest.

So back to the statistical analysis. Who can give me access to some data to test my theories? I've only got drop times logged for what I've caught / tried to catch.

It's worth a try I'm opening to sharing my findings or even documenting how I drop catch currently if anyone is interested. It's more of a hobby for me and this theory of calculating drop times has made it somewhat more interesting

I didn't think for a second he'd missed the thread. If I were Denys I'd get the beers in and amuse myself watching us all trying to figure it out
