I saw a .org.uk that I might still register but it's a .org.uk, I thought it would be good for someone like the Princes Trust but are these ext's really worth it?

Is it worth it?

It is a shame to see so many keyword rich .uk extensions registered, but remain undeveloped, as it is with any tld exstension.

I set up a site on a one word .org.uk, ran it for 9 months and sold for a decent price. Far better than hoping someone one day will buy it for just the domain.

I have had a site running on another .org.uk for two and half months and its is making £60 a month since the start of the 1st full month. All SE traffic!

So, if you see a decent keywrod rich domain, A: let me know ;) B: Register it and DEVELOP.

Keyword rich. Do you mean just typing in the Google.... Key word.... or "key word"?

With the quotes I get back 638,000 results but without the quotes I get back some 80,000,000

Oh right, I thought it was something to do with traffic levels etc. Well I think I am going to register one or two, it's not gonna break the bank!

the domain is YouthTraining.org.uk

I have developed some & have a couple of pr2's. Its a start
Plan to develop a couple more. Am doing some other sites currently though

I have yts.org.uk for sale if ever interested

Ah, I actually looked at that Pred but saw it was registered. Do you get much traffic?

I'm gonna develop this one first and then develop the ones in my sig for the time being, I don't like just sticking them on Sedo crossing my fingers.

Definitely worth it. Have bought and sold loads.
Also if they fit extension & you have a great site , it can beat just about anything.

Here's a hyphenated .org.uk beating everything lol. Fantastic site
http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=re...s=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a

Another one of Brendan's sites

His sites rank well because they have great content and people link to them naturally. If you get the right content and links you can get any domain to rank .co.uk, .org.uk or even .me.uk

I agree that if your subject is seen as a non commercial one even if it does make money then a .org.uk can be better than a .co.uk name

can you dig yes i can

lemon a few DN'rs are a bit sour  over .org.uk domains... mainly because they missed the boat on .co.uk then ignored .org.uk till it was too late to get the *real* good generics... we have brokered / devloped a lot of .org's and have made considerable profits BUT ONLY from developed ones... we have bought and sold a few and recently got $2500.00 for a $7 buck investment... good if you can get it...

the hyphenated example by pred is one of the best you could use as it is also in the arena for some of the most highest purchased keywords after sex online... recyle / recyling is big money...

so simple answer YES buy them but DEVELOP then sell (if you want!) or make them into info + affiliate link portals = $$$! ;)

If .co.uk's are like the .com's then .org.uk's are like the .net's (or .info's) of the world...
I even believe that .me.uk will become akin to the .org's... Perhaps Nominet will even open it up to open registration (what the heck -- they wouldn't want to miss out on extra fees?)

I'm glad I got on the .org.uk trail in time!

I have .org.uk and .me.uk web sites all doing stupidly well in Google.

Google dosn't look at them in the slightest i say oh it's a .me.uk website it must be sh**e lets not rank it within the 1st page.

A search for "low cost treatment abroad" my .me.uk site #10

I'm #1,4 and 8 as well on other domains on the 1st page too but their .com's and .org.uk's and not my point. ;)

.org.uk

I strongly believe that .org.uk will prove to be a good long term investment as .co.uk availability will inevitably become scarce.

There are numerous businesses and organisations in the UK without a web presence and .org.uk will provide them with the opportunity to establish themselves on the net.

The public know about .co.uk and they are getting to used to .org.uk more and more and they will remember it as an extension.

The future for me.uk will be significantly less lucrative.
