IMO This thread seems like a bit of a promote .org.uk names as I own loads thread to me. (getting ready for bullets to fly!!)
Well you were brave enough to say it before me. I am perplexed as to why an apparently successful extension requires its own cheer-leading squad. I can only imagine that polarising beliefs.
Some of the wording is what i'd expect around the hype of a new extension release

.org.uk's are great for affiliate sites where ranking it is the key ingredient, but I agree that for anything brandable .co.uk is definetely better, as mentioned .co.uk seems to be people's default setting. I've told countless people before to check out websites with a .org.uk prefix only for them to come back the next day having gone on the .co.uk to say it doesn't work etc.
In terms of ranking I think they all stand on pretty even ground, noticed more .me.uk's ranking recently

Well done people that are ranking in search engines (other than google..) with their .org.uk domains - I appreciate the OP's post
I am trying hard with org.uk domains - so far (3-6 months) not much to boast about with yahoo/msn/bing rankings/traffic, I'm hoping that it's not a complete time waste, and that in 1-2 years Google will repay my ROI in the .org.uk market but at the moment it's not great.

Couldn't be bothered to check the rest. Plenty of No. 2-3-4s in all flavours. Some of the above are just SB sites. Others with high competition like bmx bike, sideboard, etc. I never turn down an extension if the keyword is good.
