I've just aquired a domain which is reciveing a huge amount of spam, so much that even though I'm directing all email to :blackhole in cpanel, the server can't cope.

Any ideas?

Can I remove the MX line in the zone file?

Maybe set it to 127.0.0.1? Its localhost - i.e. the sending machine.

Wastes a bit of spambot time and avoids it falling back to your A record if it cannot find an MX.

Cheers, Nick.

I set the IP field such that it had nothing in it at all. This has revived the email of other domains on the server.

It does raise the question of if some domains become worthless / devalued becuase of the amount of spam comming at them?
