I've noticed in a couple of tools that I use that you can filter by Page Rank or by Page Authority. Does anyone know the difference and does anyone know any free Page Authority checkers?

Good question

Hi, I dont know the exact difference, but i know that both rank are very similar. I mean that you cant find one site with great PR and poor authority.

Im gonna stay in the touc in this thread.

Cutts is always banging on about authority and trust, I think they're a different metric to page rank, although ironically all high authority sites have high PR, but probably not all high PR sites have high authority.

Page rank is important but site authority is more important. Page Rank is what we all know to be that number that signifies how well a site ranks in Google's search algorithm (how old it is, how many backlinks it has, etc.) authority rank is how authoritative it is to Google.

Thanks for the replies - I must admit - i've been working more based on authority than page rank alone.
