i own a small business and registered with ghoulnet.
i renewed the registration on time and confirmed it over the phone but they renewed the .com instead of the .biz.

over the phone they confirmed it as being .biz and took the payment for the .biz account but they said they do not keep a recording of the voicecalls.

however i now find that my .biz domain name has been registered by goldstandardnames but they want >$1000 for it :(

all they seem to be doing is sitting on it which seems against the neulevel policy

what can i do?

If you have a trail of paperwork/emails that confirm that Ghoulnet should have renewed the .biz then you may have some legal recourse over them. But this path will be expensive.

You may get away with just threatening them with legal action - you most probably need to speak to someone senior about it rather than a support monkey.

i am more concerned with gettting my domain name back quickly from goldstandard.

how do i do it since they are in breach of the neulevel RDRP

Disclaimer - this does not constitute advice etc, dyor:

I found:

http://www.icann.org/tlds/agreements/biz/registry-agmt-appl-18apr01.htm

"Registering a [.biz] domain name solely for the purposes of (1) selling, trading or leasing the domain name for compensation, or (2) the unsolicited offering to sell, trade or lease the domain name for compensation shall not constitute a "bona fide business or commercial use" of that domain name."

So it looks as though the current registrant is in breach, so you might have recourse there.

I think you will have more luck pursuing this yourself rather than asking the people that let you down do it. I guess you could undertake action through NeuLevel (operators of .biz) as the current registrant does appear to be in breach of conditions. That's why most domainers steer clear of .biz.
