Thanks for all the PMs so far. I've replied with guide prices but if anyone else wants to make offers you know where I am. Surprised at the lack of interest in the Islamic names to be honest, what a market that will be in the coming years.

I can only see 2 Islamic domains on there, and they are for credit cards.

And there are no Islamic credit cards.

Thus, no interest :)

I'd buy them as a gamble, but the price would have to be pretty damned low.

Well... all the Halal names are Islamic names.

You can get what is known as Islamic credit cards in some countries and they are on the way to the UK. Have a read of http://www.islamicmortgages.co.uk/index.php?id=76 and http://www.zawya.com/story.cfm/sidZAWYA20071108073001/SecMain/pagHomepage

The lack of interest is more to do with ignorance of the market than value, imho.

They certainly aren't going for a low price.

Is there not something in Islamic law about not charging interest that would make an Islamic Credit Card impossible?

Quite literally no interest!! ;)

Looks like I was too slow and lacking in knowledge when making my post!

/bangs head on wall

yes, of course, but they are still known as Islamic Credit Cards...

In the same way people talk about pre-pay credit cards...

It does, however there are ways and means of getting around it. ie. 'fees' rather than interest etc etc :)

Quite.

Trust me guys, I know a fair bit about Islam and keep up-to-date with the Islamic press and business press. The City of London and the government are very keen to become a major force in Islamic finance.

btw - I have dropped you an email - not sure if you have got it?

Rob, have you got my last two emails? I've had no reply. I'll PM you too.

And now I have a spare moment (Christmas sales are crazy...) - going back to the Islamic credit card "debate"...

Pakistan is getting one - http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=83983

the Dubai Islamic Bank is launching one - http://www.ameinfo.com/140813.html

and Malaysia is getting one - http://biz.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2007/11/22/business/19542842&sec=business

Anyone want to place a bet on there being one in the UK soon?

Hi, I'm interested in just one of these names. Are you still selling individually?
