What do you think is the best approach for an affiliate site, on for example 'netbooks'

Would you rather take a blog-type approach, for example Patio Heaters - Special Offers and Discounts on Patio Heaters, Firepits and Chimineas

Or, do you think an affiliate store approach would be better (eg a MyAffSite store or a store made with DatafeedStudio) for example Laptops

I would opt for the affiliate site rather than the blog

affiliate site over the blog. You want ot get visitors who are at the right part of the buying cycle, ie. they know what they want and your sites points them at it. This is opposed to the research part of the cycle, where they are just finding out about things.

Affiliate store over blog. Although I've never really tried to monetise a blog before, so my opinion is one sided.

I've made a load of affiliate sites using datafeedstudio, and the license cost paid for itself within a few weeks. I found I was getting a lot of hits from google images, which still converts quite nicely.

I have 2 domains, both just regged, very similar names so I could make an aff site and aff blog and see which one does best. Is it a worthewhile test?

I could post all stats here for feedback.

I'm just trying to get DFS feeds working before building any new sites.

DFS feeds are extremely simple to get going.

If you're having issues getting it working, Martin is extremely helpful, and he works some crazy hours.

PM me if you have any easy questions, I've been through the initial pitfalls and helped a couple of folks here.

Do any of these affiliate/shop programs allow meta tags?
Some of the examples posted don't have or use this?
Obviously need some benefit from SEO to help with the traffic

Yes, MyAffSite allows full control over your metatags and a whole load of other SEO stuff.

When am I getting paid?

This was discussed a while back... I'm still waiting on payment, I'm still waiting on income being placed back in my account from sites I deleted...

I'm only asking because I now promote stuff via Awin direct and I'm seeing sales approved long before they are showing as approved in my myaffsite account.. Sales I have made from the same site I had at myaffsite, are already approved with my direct Awin account... but you still show them as pending...

As you are aware we have recently taken over the site and our first pay cycle is scheduled for July 15th.

I was under the impression that any outstanding payments had been made by the previous owner, but if this is not the case, please PM me with your name and any other information and I will investigate immediately.

In terms of the 'pending' question, also please give me details and I will investigate.
