rDNS

If its your server / VPS it shouldnt be an issue. We dont have any issue setting rDNS.
But I doubt (m)any hosts would set rDNS if you were on shared hosting, even if you bought an IP just for your site.

Thanks for that.

Im not sure why they wouldnt set up an entry. You can have unlimted reverse entries per IP address after all.

I will fire some emails out today and she what everyone says.

You can have multiple yes but it is not a recommended practice. It can casuse issues and usually they are mail issues.

Plus if you are on shared hosting have you checked you are sending from your own IP?
Its not uncommon for you to still send from the MTAs standard IP.

While you can have multiple A and PTR records for an IP it won't have any impact, as most applications, such as email, use the primary IP on the server for sending mail.

As the guys have already said, on shared servers the Mail almost always gets sent out on the main ip. If you really need your own RDNS then look for a cheap VPS/Dedicated box!
