I was so happy whistling whilst I was working earlier - and the weather is sooo hot, that instead of naming a .txt file simply file.txt I named it domain.com and it's now showing as an MS-DOS Application.

Would anyone know how I can rename this little .com file so I can get at what I saved inside it or at the very least get what's inside, out?

Cheers
Lee

Start --> Run

THen in the black command window, type

I right click and the only option is rename but doesn't offer a change of extension.

try opening it with notepad

No right click option as I'd already opened it - foolish me.

Thanks to all three above, I combined your ideas, transferred the file to some webspace and renamed the file from .com to .txt and I can now get back into the site I've been working on all day today haha PHEW, I didn't fancy doing that again.

Thanks

Edit: I've just seen that I could have done that in search mode and edited from the list given. That's four things I've learned today, I've got s*** over priced domains, know how to get an hex from an image and how to change extensions on a pc and make two copies of passwords. :mrgreen:

and in return here's my advice, if you're really really hot, have a cup of tea to cool you down and not a gallon of iced water.
