I've just sold a domain name independently however the buyers maximum offer coincidentally matched a maximum offer i received on sedo recently as well so i made the fair assumption it was probably the same outfit. I had turned the original sedo offer down mostly due to their commission fees bringing the sale below what i would accept.
After speaking to the chap on the phone just now i decided to ask if it was him who had made an offer on sedo before and he confirmed it was him. However he told me that sedo had directly contacted him notifying him of the domain being for sale.
Is this something sedo do? Effectively brokering domains without me having asked them to? I can't find anything in their terms to state that they do, only that they can contact third parties between a negotiation that has already been instigated.
I don't particularly mind as at the end of the day i do have some of my domains listed there for sale (however i was glad to reach a sale outwith them and avoid their fees!) but it did take me by surprise when he said they did this.
