Has anyone experimented with contacting people who spammed you with a pitch for the related domain name?
We get dozens of unsolicited emails a day that have been "targeted" to one or other of our domains i.e. it's pretty obvious what the sender (or the company they outsourced the email campaign to) typed in to get hold of our contact email address.
The spam seems "semi legit" in that it the email provides a contact name, company name, UK address and/or phone number and often also a web address (either in the body, or certainly in the sender's email address) that matches the theme of the email solicitation.
Sometimes I wonder if it might be worth the effort to respond along the lines of "Sorry, we're not interested but..." with a sales pitch for the domain in question, rather than just hitting the "Delete" button.
Any first-hand experience you could share would be great.
