The purpose of this thread is for the Acorn community to showcase their shops and recognise added value from others by supporting them with their online shopping activity. E.g. I might be about to buy a new TV, and I know that Fred from Acorn has built a TV affiliate site which I think is great and adds value, so if I want to support a fellow Acorner, I buy through that.
I will kick things off, and I would be most grateful if any Acorners decide to frequent my shop:
Shop: LowPrices.co.uk
Site Description: Price comparison service.
Site Value Add: Quickly compare prices at many of the UK's top online stores, allowing you to find a good deal from a trusted retailer. The site makes it easy for you to sweep UK retailers for a particular product.
Things you can buy: Most retail products.
If you would like to add your own shop, here are the thread rules:
- Give the details of your shop in the format above.
- You can add as many of your shops as you like, but use a new post for each shop.
- The focus is on retail affiliate sites and shops, i.e. promoting products like a book or an item of furniture, but other service sites, e.g. broadband, are also accepted.
- This particular thread is not open to gambling sites, loan sites or adult product sites. Other sites may be refused at Admin's discretion, check with Admin before posting if you are unsure.
- People adding to the thread are encouraged to bear other peoples' sites in mind when shopping online.
- If you are prepared to, post what you bought from where for added interest.
- Any feedback about the shops is welcome and can be posted in the thread.
- You are not allowed to ask "Does anyone have this type of site before I buy?" That's unfair on the networks and merchants. However, if you are finding it hard to find something, you can ask "Where can I buy this?" and shop owners can answer as they are then adding value.
If he gets time, Admin may also create a special Acorn Directory for these shops, to give your site an additional link.
You will have to decide whether you will benefit from this thread, and there may be a trade off between Acorn promotion and potential new competitors. You will have to decide for yourself whether you want to join in, as I'm sure there are some sites you'll want to keep secret from others. However, I for one will try and support others if there is a good Acorn built site I can buy through. This is the thread to shout about your developed sites on Acorn, if that's what you want to do!
