Suspended Domain Renewed... And Still Suspended?

Curious to see if anyone knows what's going on here. Back in March (based on when I loaded onto a catcher) I added a domain that was suspended and looked like it was dropping.

It was then renewed in April but it's still marked as suspended:

Registered on: 18-May-2012
Expiry date: 18-May-2022
Last updated: 18-Apr-2020

Registration status:
Registered until expiry date.
*** This registration has been SUSPENDED. ***

I'm assuming that means that the domain had been suspended for reasons other than the expiry date, but if that is the case are you still able to renew it?

It's likely under review by Nominet.
They have automatic filters for certain words (eg coronavirus)
I had one domain that contained 3 famous letters and was marked as suspended until I had a chat with Nominet team to explain

Yeah I get that they can be suspended for other reasons but I'm more curious about the renewal - it's been suspended for over six months and during that time was renewed.

Logic would suggest that if a domain was suspended for policy violations it couldn't be renewed, or is that not the case?
