I just saw a first post by a new member, which I found thoughtful and helpful, so I gave rep. His rep jumped from zero to hero instantly - I only wanted to help him along a notch or two - is this default behaviour by vB?

No - you can stagger them, on a forum I run to have 4 green pips means you are some kind of guru :)

Likewise I have the weighting set so if you are close to red it doesnt take a lot to push you further down.

Add in a mod with auto banning and posting limitations it sorts itself out nicely.

Red rep or very very low rep users can start threads etc.

Its the internet, computers ought to do the work for you :)

also it seems you can't get above 6 squares, rep beyond repute
i'd like 10 squares to be achievable and be declared a God :D

and if i was admin i'd have 11 green squares set as default and declare myself as Odin, God of the Gods :p
