Just because it's raining doesn't mean it's not a beautiful day.
It's obvious he's asking for help it doesn't need to be written.
I think the new message is an advancement and far more effective, he's moving the sentiment away from himself begging, to making the giver more aware of how fortunate they are.
It's a syntax masterpiece.

The point is the people taking credit didn't come up with any of it. But as I said, the video itself is really sweet and heartwarming.

Think it would have been better if it had said “IF you don’t give me a quid I’ll have to eat my guide dog ” emotive sell’ puppies, kids skipping, old people reminiscing etc use whatever you can to sell them what they can’t afford and don’t need not really making the world a better place ?
