Um guessin he probably put them in the glove box.
Its a good idea to also not leave the sat nav bracket on the window or ipod cables and that. Even the sucker mark on the window is sometimes enough for a theif to take a chance that a sat nav might be laying around in the car!
Luckily the area I live in everyone knows everyone. If my car got broken into I would know who did.
Some kids had a go at my range rover while back smash the passenger window I heard it came out and chased them up the road. Police arrested them, forensic found some fragments of glass on his clothing. Anyway it went all the way to court surprisingly and then he made some story up in court that he was throwing a brick at one of his mates that missed and went through my window. Was bullshit of course but verdict was an accident and let off
2 cars in my close have been done, same thing looking for sat navs.
Police gave me a sign to put in my car to say "no valuables left in car on police advice" if I use that they will probably torch the thing!
I now have Sat Nav on my phone so less inclined to leave it in the car and doesnt need the sucker bracket.
They say dont leave your PC switched on in the boot of your car as they can sense it there and try to get it, not sure how, maybe they look for bluetooth signals?
