Hi All,

Have around 50 .uk domains at 1&1 that I have been happy with so far, but as they have transfer out fees am interested in having eggs in different baskets.

So last week I bought 18 names .co.uk off a guy via ebay and he had them at fasthosts so I thought I would sign up there as it might make things easier. So after it wasn't possible from their control panel I got this reply from their support:

"the domains he have are on the old account with fasthosts. Currently, domain transfers from the old accounts to new ones(like yours) are not possible. The only work around or resolution for this is to delegate the hosting for the domain in the old account so that you can add it in to the new account. This does not transfer the registration but you can use the domain for your emails and websites."

I don't like the sound of that !

Any suggestions what I do next ?

1) Transfer the names to 1&1 via a nominet mass transfer
2) Transfer the names to heart via a nominet mass transfer
3) See if fasthosts will let us transfer the names from "old" fasthosts to "new" fasthosts via nominet mass transfer

Cheers,

Rob

Thanks will check out daily.

.... new reply from fasthosts

"Domains cannot be transferred from 1 account to another with in Fastshosts. This only applies to the new accounts but not for the old once.
We currently have the old and new system, and transfer from one system to another is also not possible. Your account is in the new system, while the domains are on the old system."

Bye Bye Fasthosts.

Yes it's about time fasthosts sorted out this problem of transferrring between accounts. We were told about a month ago that the problem would be solved within a week but still not resolved. A buyer of one of our domains specifically set up a fasthosts account so that we could transfer a .com to him. Then we were told that as his was a 'new' fasthosts account and ours was an 'old' account it couldn't be done but that technicians were working on the problem. But still not resolved :(
