Hi,

I've trawled through some previous threads but I can't seem to find many answers on how long transfers actually take?

An old post from Nominet on this forum said:

"provided you fill it out right etc and pay the fee, the turnaround target is in the region of 5 days"

Is this about right in people's own experiences?

I'm pretty sure I've dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's with regards documentation so assuming my forms are OK is 5 working days feasible or been experienced by anyone?

We do several transfers every week. Most happen a day or so after Nominet receive the paperwork. Delays occur when something is missing or needs to be checked with either party.
You can easily check the progress of a transfer, and on occasions it is possible to hasten the process.

That will be very cool if it happens within a day or so :-)

I've done transfers before but only ever acted as a kind of broker when I worked at an ISP so have no idea on how the process works from the new and old registrant perspective.

Will I be informed of the progress via e-mail, phone etc or should I just keep checking the whois like a mad man!

EDIT - Spoke with Nominet, they said "normally five working days". Also told me that both parties would be informed via e-mail when the process was complete.

Thanks for everyone's help on this :-)

True to their word my transfer took five working days (actually just under). Thanks to all at Nominet for a speedy, hitch free process :-)
