The only site I use for networking is linkedin.com. What's the value of 'twitter'? Any commercial use?

Yeah I have finally, I know others who have had great benefit when it comes to getting help quickly or finding out news and in some cases making deals, partnerships and sales.

If you send a tweet containing @username (i.e. @lukeeales), then that user will have the message delivered to their Twitter homepage for all to see. You can also send direct messages (dm) that are private and appear on the right column. It takes a bit of getting used to, I admit. If you can find a good network of people to follow, Twitter becomes very valuable.

Thats mainly coz I am working this week mainly off a blackberry so need some toys to play with so will be twittering lots!

I dont see the point either - the search function is very very useful , however not convinced that me generating content will be useful.

Saying that those of you on my email / msn / skype will know the random stuff about - work / fun etc so will see if putting it on there would be any use.
