" As it is not decided whether a direct.uk service will proceed, or if it does the form the service might take,
it is simply not possible to provide answers to your questions on implementation, strategy, marketing communications,
or how any changes to terms and conditions might manifest themselves. "
Ah give them a break - 10 people in Trump_Nom Towers must be working overtime as because they may have realised it has :
a. Not been thought through properly;
b. Not been communicated properly;
c. Not been considered that anyone may have opposing opinions to the views of Nom directors;
d. Not been thought through properly!
I decided to add one point twice as there are sooooo many gaping holes when you probe the surface of these "initial" proposals.
Be good to know how much cash Nom have spent on lawyers, external consultants and time to get to where it is today as either :
a. They have been ripped off and the Nominet Trust has lost a lot of money for what is a ill-conceived and half-arsed consultation to date
OR
b. They have spent nothing (so the Trust is fine) which would make sense given what they have put on the table has clearly not been run past anyone outside the boardroom.
Summary
IMHO, it is complete BS that a company that is this far down the track of a 'consultation' cannot answer questions about implementation, strategy, marketing communications, or how any changes to terms and conditions might manifest themselves.
So are they serisouly saying that as a board/company they are proposing something that we, the shareholders, can't question their authority and processes and must go along with them 'blind' and 'hope for the best'?
Those questions are some of the very first basic things any internal management (worth their salt) or external consultant would ask as it's what the members/shareholders need to know in order to even vote yes or no with any conviction.
Nom really are looking like a bunch of prize numpties and everyone at a senior level will be tarred with the same brush.
