Ok here is the question, for example i am after example.uk but the rights says it belongs to the owner of example.co.uk now how long must i wait before i can register example.uk?
The .co.uk owner has 5 years in which to register the .uk, at the end of that time, if they haven't, it then becomes available for anyone else to register it.
Either .uk will have caught on well before then, in which case it's crazy to expect a top .co.uk owner to go without the "better" extension. Not to mention that anything decent and generic is likely to result in a deluge of "expressions of interest" aimed at the rights-holder as the 5 year deadline approaches.
Or it won't have caught on in any major way, and .co.uk is still very firmly king, in which case why will anyone care?
