After hitting a brick wall can someone please advise how to escape the clutches of UK2? I tried to move a .com reg away but the domain reg details are all now listed as UK2 contacts. I can't see how through my UK2 account I can do it.

Inspite of what Ditlev has said on here before the process seems tortuous.

For £11-75 you can transfer a .uk domain to a new Regsitrant, and now you can move the domain to your chosen Registrar (tagholder) at the same time, with no additional charge.

That would be ok for a .co.uk but moving a .com from uk2 is a little bit more tricky as they are the admin contact, so any transfer emails get sent to them, which they wont action unless you go through thier transfer process, which involves faxing ID's and paying money.

Unless they've changed thier mentalist transfer procedure.

UK2 transfer procedure text for a .com:

"NIC JOKER
Step 1 We will change the admin, technical and billing contact handles to the handle you specify in this form. Joker handles look like CCOM-695227 (.com domains) or CNET-568472 (.net) - your owner handle is mentioned below.
Make sure that you, or your ISP, have access to the email address the handle refers to. If you do not, you will not be able to make changes through Joker's website - your domain will be stranded.
Step 2 Contact your new ICANN registrar and ask them to initiate a transfer in to them. They are likely to charge you a substantial fee and will involve additional paperwork. Please note that ICANN rules state that you cannot move domains registered less than 60 days ago.

Enter Joker (JORE-1) handle"

I want out of UK2. Who would you recommend to host my .com reg? What handle identifier do they use please? Thx.

123-REG - any good for .com reg hosting? Don't laugh.
