usTLD Nexus Requirements

Hello

I recently paid a LARGE sum of money for a .US domain for an investment. At the time not knowing anything about the usTLD Nexus requirements; http://www.neustar.us/policies/docs/...quirements.pdf
I received an email today forwarded by Godaddy from NeuStar, Inc. Along the lines;

On July 21, 208, this domain name was selected for Nexus revalidation and confirmation. According to the information you provided with your registration of these Domain Names, you indicated that you qualify under:

Category 2 - You are a US business or organization.

As part of our verification process, we ask that you provide to us by no later than ten (10) days after the date set forth above, a written response describing how you qualify under the above Nexus category.


I am not a US business or organization and I don't know where I indicated that I was Category 2, I bought the name through sedo and the registrar is now Godaddy.
Category 1 is US citizen, which I am also not.

So basically I have 10 days to work out someway I can comply with the Nexus requirement so I can keep the domain.

Has anyone had any experience with this or have any ideas?!

You maybe able to get round it via Category 3:

Applicant must also (1) regularly engage in lawful activities (sales of goods or services or
other business, commercial or non-commercial including not-for-profit activities) in the​

United States;

The fact that you have a website can mean visitors come from the US... I think it can be stretched to 'activities'.

They often do spot checks on .us domains, particularly if they notice there's been a (big) sale.

So if I knock up a quick info site about keyword of the domain and say its for informing americans about the keyword would it be possible to get around?
Im not too sure how to word it to them..
