Hi Guys

I've decided to drop BusinessBroadband.me.uk. Do you think this was a good decision? I've got my own views, but I thought we could have a discussion and it might help the newbies.

Thanks

Hi,

I would drop that what made you reg it in the first place was it reg free ?

I think so - I'd have dropped it.

I mean 'Business' on a me.uk feels odd anyway. :)

It was whilst I was in my "experimental" .me.uk phase. It was reg free two years ago.

I'm dropping it because I already have a business broadband site. If I didn't and had time to build one, I'd use it. I'm dropping it because it seems hard to sell .me.uk on, so it's pointless me keeping it. I don't have a problem with developing .me.uk myself, but anecdotally, they don't seem to rank well on Google.

Yes, point taken. However, I still think the url would look OK in the SERPs and people would click on it.

I agree with that. If you get it up there, I don't think it makes any odds what the extention is, they will click on it if they think the info is what they are looking for.

Was there not a thread about this with a me.uk grand national name?

Here's a me.uk of mine on yahoo. Makes a regular small income every month. I just wish it was as high on google!

Anecdotally, I feel both Yahoo and Bing will rank an exact match domain quite well, just because of the exact match words in the domain. On Google, you need links instead, and there may even be some downgrade on the .me.uk but not sure.
