Washout summer

Are our summers getting worse (in terms of decent weather) ? The last 3 years have been crap with just one or two weeks of 'summer sunshine"

It does seem as though we dont really have a summer anymore, or at least not when we are supposed too, A couple of months ago it was scortching.
I remember when I was young we used to have proper long hot summers.
Saying that I dont really like it when its too hot, I dont understand how people can just lay out in the sun all day, gives me the right hump!! as long as its warm and dry Im a happy bunny.
