Seeing reports on Twitter that WebHosting.co.uk sold this week for $500,000 !

Anyone know any more info ?

Interesting how the buyer would pay that much, when nominet about planning to launch .uk

From looking at the history of the site from screenshots. In April 2012 it had a review site on it, they changed this to what appears to be a landing page in July this year, then later sold it!

Looking on semrush.com/uk it didn't look like it had much traffic when there was a site on there. So it seems to me that this was based on the domain value, unless they had captured a load of e-mail addresses.

I actually think the opposite - great time to buy it as they obviously have deep pockets and WebHosting.uk would look awesome and now they have a chance of obtaining it.

It was almost certainly bought on the domain name alone and nothing else.
