Website in two languages

Guys, been working on a wordpress site which has to be in 2 languages.

I would prefer to have 2 flags in the top right hand side where users can select the language they want.

Anyone any suggestions on how to do this?

Pro domains, set up a folder (or a sub domain if necessary) for the other language, just link the flags to the folder or not (as the case may be!) to be safe for search engines use the canonical tag to link to the original.

Exactly how I would do it IMO... e.g. mydomain.com/ is the english site and mydomain.com/fr/ is the french site. Or even fr.mydomain.com....

You could then even use a little js or php to find the country from where the visitor is residing and send them to the "site" which is relevant to them.

Language switdher is not good solution for me. Automatic translate is so funny as language of the Lord of Jungle...
I suggest you to heed advice Aston...

Will play around with the subdomain idea and see how it goes from there.
