Have UK domains shot up in value ? Have I been asleep for 50 years ?

Maybe I am missing something but there seem to be a lot of sales where I really cannot explain the final auction price, to put it nicely. Most of these I'd have let go a long time ago if ever registered at all. Cheese Ipsum ?

( from Domainlore today )

It's because they all have a shed load of back links, most have high DR, DA, PA etc, and most domains bought over the last 12 months are being turned in to gambling sites to take advantage of the SEO traffic.

As an example for
historylearningsite.co.uk

Domain Rating 71
Back links 144K
Linking Websites 6K

Edit:

They're specifically Non GamStop betting sites to get around certain betting regulations.

squarechapel.co.uk seems to confirm the gambling site.... but how much traffic is that getting ? And how many people are going to suddenly go..."oh..not what im looking for, but ill go sign up for a gambling site"
