I'm new to this drop catching game, in the past I would buy my high PR domains at auction which meant their PR would stay through the whole process.

Of course with dropped domains, by the time any .uk domains drop and can be registered, their PR has gone back to N/A. I've now got 15 domains I've caught which I expect to be PR3 or better, but it's been over 2 weeks now for most of them with no change from N/A. The sites went live within a week of catching the domain, all with fresh unique content. The only thing I haven't done is submitted them to Google webmaster tools.

Does anyone with experience doing this know how long it might take for PR to return?

Hmmm that's what I thought, thanks Murray. Can't understand what is going on at all.... 15 sites, all 14 days and counting. They've all been indexed as well.

I bought an expired PR4 Domain, banged some content on and the pr was valid straight away. Whenever i post new content it shows quite high on google very quickly.
