Hello all. for a new project (maybe) for a price comparison site, which domain would you use? cheers Mally

I've voted for pricecomparison.org.uk as it's an EMD for the phrase which has 33K exacts.

Thanks for your quick replies. It would be aimed for online mainly

I've voted for pricecomparison.org.uk on the assumption that you will only use web marketing techniques, i.e. incoming links, to market it. This is a good name to target the exacts and start off in the sector, but if you have larger plans then save the income and use it to market something more brandable, as pricecomparison.org.uk is a bit long. buya.co.uk is OK, but you would need heavy marketing spend to get anywhere.

I'd choose a .co.uk over the .org.uk - PriceComparisonShop.co.uk seems to be the best of the .co.uk

I nearly said that, and in fact I think I've changed my mind to this one. It still has the right first two words, but it's the .co.uk. It's quite brandable, although a little on the long side, but a nice way to target the exact match with some added brandability.

I'd go for the shortest, generic, most brandable, memorable domain money could buy
and buy: pricecomparison.me off me :D

go into webmaster tools and set uk as desired target for serps
bobs your uncle
lol

I can't believe DB chose pricecomparison.org.uk - I thought you hated .org.uk ;-)

Voted for pricecomparison.org.uk, i do quite like buya.co.uk, pretty catchy and a good brand, but on the same line as pred, i think you would be better off with my compare.tv!.

Good luck with the project, i was going to do something like that, but like pretty much everything else, i got bored and moved onto something else.

I think it depends on the size and goals of the project. If you just want to chuck up a quick site and see how it does in the serch engines then the .org.uk could be the way to go as it is the EMD. However, if the project has any scope and you see it becoming a big site then you have to choose a .co.uk

I would go for pricecomparisonshop.co.uk
I clicked the wrong one though...

I'd go with the .org.uk as highly competitive term and the EMD would likely help slightly overall. Negatives: Will always be a problem from branding perspective and suffer from a degree of leakage to the .co.uk
