Hi Folks,
Just to share, I had one of my less used sites hacked recently where they added some files to my host space that was some kind of malware.
The site was previously running a simple PHP based website.
I subsequently deleted the whole host and re-created it (to make sure it is clean) and then added Wordpress + Wordfence (free security plugin).
The site is back running as normal but WF is helping me to block incoming IPs from Russia trying to access the dodgy files that were there before. It really is an awesome tool for this as I can set it to automatically throttle incoming requests and then ban anything I don't like the look of.
For a totally free solution, Wordpress (plus plugins) really is a great toolkit and can be used way beyond what some people may view as just a CMS with templates.
