Wordpress theme help

I really like this theme https://wordpress.org/themes/illustratr/ and want to use it (or something similar) for a site I'm planning to build.

However, the one thing I don't like about it is the footer is hidden and you have to press a button to reveal it. How hard would that be to change to displaying it all the time? You can see it if you click on the link and go to the preview page.

Does anyone know of any other minimalist themes like this? I like the way it displays the posts, so if anyone knows of any themes similar (free or paid) I'd be interested to know as there might be something better than this one.

That theme looks simple but is running a lot of Java Scripts;

This may slow the page load speed which Google will SEO bash you for so unless you can minify it I wouldn't go for that one.

Use the Wordpress Theme browser and use the filter there to help you find what you want, check the "Responsive" one so you know it's mobile-friendly and then tick colours and other features you want. Use the search word "flat" or "lite", I like this one:
