You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page

I recently bought a site which uses a custom made plugin for which no update or support is available anymore and now I have recently upgraded to the latest version of WP and when I try to access the plugin I get the following message:

You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

Did a lot of searching on wp.org and via Google and it seems that it has something to do with User permissions?

Is there anyone who can help me with this? Willing to pay for it.
