So what was your first ever PC / Games console that you owned?

Mine was an intellivision. T'was superb ..... looking on ebay for one at the mo. Love my retro games :)

And my first PC was a zx81. I've never forgiven Alan Sugar for killing the spectrums :(

Yoof of today don't know what they've missed out on!

Atari 7800 with Asteroids built in.

I think it looks surprising modern (maybe not the control pad)

I don't know if it counts, but an Amiga 500...if it doesn't, then a SNES :)

Those were the days, buying computer games in 1993 as a seven year old girl...used to get some funny looks. In fact, I got endless 'Do you need help?' 'Do you have the console for that?' until about the time the PlayStation was released and gaming got more common amongst girls.

Now it's 'Do you need help?' from staff trying to upsell, rather than because they genuinely think I'm confused. Yes, I know my alphabet so I can find what I'm looking for. Yes, I noticed that you also have a shop next door on account of the fact that I've lived here for twenty years and happened to notice it on my way past.

had a 2600 as a kid, but dont remember much of it

my first real computer was... an Amstrad CPC 464 - what a beauty. Green screen ofc.

Traded that in for an Amiga, good times.

All the girls were into consoles by the time the SNES came along. The true pioneers were in at the NES stage. ;)

My first owned computer was a ZX81, however, the first computer I used was part of an Open University course my dad did whilst I was very small, we did have a PET for a week as a management education exercise from one of dad's employers.

This bad boy was mine.

I suggest we stop this thread now before I feel even older, I was on my 2nd full time job when the 464 came out :)

I'm one of those sad gits who has all those reto machines....bought not at the time, but when I spent time trawling ebay.

I had or have:

ZX80
ZX81
Sinclair QL
Various Spectrum
Oric
Dragon
BBC
Atari 2600
and many more I cannot think of.
Even got some manual calculators and machines bits for reading paper tape and punch cards.

I got presented with my ZX81 on my 40th, dad had kept it in the loft. It was of course highly modified with alternative keyboard, new case, system board modification, but was still a ZX81 at heart.

Join the club! I still remember IBM 360 punch cards  Well, not at the very beginning of 360s era, but I've managed to catch the last years of the moster.

First personal type was Yamaha MSX2 - early 80s. Something like this:

First was an Atari (woody version!) - those were the days - Space Invaders, Outlaw, Combat......

Then went on to a spectrum 48k (with separate cassette unit)......followed by an Atari ST

Actually picked up an Atari ST computer with same game pack I had as a kid on Ebay last year - good deal at just 25 nicker!

First was a "Dragon 64".

The game I played most was called "Whirly Bird", I think. It loaded from a cassette !

After that it was Gameboy, Master System, Megadrive.... PSP.
