Hi there,

brent x shopping ones is quite good, as I have just seen a bus in St. Pauls, the city advertising brentcross with a similar domain on the side. No idea on price however I'm afraid! Any hits?

Brent Cross Shopping Centre is a recognised brand.

Shopping in Brent Cross is not.

Therefore any development should include the whole area not just the centre.

Potentially talk to the council or group responsible for running the shops outside of the centre. I bet they are pretty peaved about the centre and might be prepared to promote themselves independently of the elephant?

Could be a good local shopping site, but I don't think the net has progressed that locally yet.

UKretailparks, well, you don't go looking for different ones generally. May have some value as a directory, or commercially business to business as an uptodate site of vacant premises and waiting lists etc for investors and retailers.

Both would take quite alot of work to keep going and build reputation.

brentcrossshopping may get ppc revenue.

I would say that people only really think of the shopping centre when they think of Brent Cross, so the name does really relate to the Shopping Centre, Also ovation for brentcrossshoppingcentre.co.uk is 6 where brentcrossshopping.co.uk is 5, only 1 less and shorter. I think if i can get it listed seo, then it will more than pay for itself in rev, as my wemblystadium.co.uk has only got 5 ovation but gets about 500-750 uniques pm, because people type it with that spelling when they search, brent cross shopping is typed in as a search term 649. -Sorry to go on!-

And Yes i think i will set up ukretailparks.co.uk as a directory and put some google ads on ,see what happens!

i'm seconding the rest - the cross is good - should be able to build on that, as normal aqls speaks sense

We should be trying to convert them to the correct spelling

Mind you it reminds me of quite a few years back, when I was a kid I was selling a hang man program for the TI-99 4a ( Anone remember that ) and I got one of the words wrong ... Guess which one

Had to do a quick release as it was in local shops .... Probably loads of kids from that era now can not spell because of me

As to the original question about the domains.
Personally I do not like domains that have 'uk' in the name when they are .co.uk anyway ... To me just sounds like you could not get the domain you wanted so had to add the uk, after all the extension implies it is UK based.

brentcrossshopping.co.uk has some potential, but you might end up with trademark issues. I would go down the route of a forum for people that go there and let them post what they thought .... Once that is up and running you can contact shops to see if they are interested in advertising.

Funnily enough Charlie, when you type brent cross shoppingcentre into Overture, it only comes back with results for brent cross shopping center (is overture uk run by Yanks?) or are most the people who shop there Uneducated? The Later Me Thinks!

As for trade mark issues, i dont think so, its just like saying , Camden shopping ,or Islington shopping....
