2004 domain cull

I note from Nominet's annual report that they culled their domain database in 2004 by removing 1.4m domains. Did anyone pick up any bargains as a result?
 
Most of those were the legendary prenom drops... fast & furious. Most of us got some, some more than others, especially those who knew about the classic 300s bug in the dac at the time.

Them were the days... I remember when you saw the smoke signals that a prenom drop was going on and you would mentally work out the PGP signature based on the position of the sun, attach it to the carrier pigeon and let it fly to nominet.

Most of us got some, some more than others, especially those who knew about the classic 300s bug in the dac at the time.

That was a random feature I believe... :)
