Edit: Domain sold for $401 (~£270) Thanks for following.

2009.co.uk is up for grabs at Sedo with just over 24 hours to go.

Current bid is at a pint and a really big bag of nuts - $130 (~£87).

The domain receives over 100 uniques per month just sitting at Sedo, but has plenty of development possibilities including 2009 car models which will keep the domain useful and profitable through 2010 and beyond.

No reserve, so get your bid in now and you might end up with the deal of the "year".

Update:

Current bid is at ~£120 and the auction ends at 11am today.

I'm guessing bidders are waiting until the last hour but if there's not a bunch more action, this will go really cheap.

Hit $401 at the end. Nice sale. Congratulations.

Thanks Edwin! Always nice to start the day with a sale. :)

I should probably start a new thread on this topic, but I wonder if it would have gone higher if it was in pounds. Psychologically, if you see two bids, one for $401 and one for £270, the latter has to seem like less.

They're probably not readily available but I'd be interested to see stats from Sedo for .co.uk domains sold in dollars vs pounds/euros. I wonder if anyone has done such a study.

Anyway, thanks to everyone for following.

You'd probably have got more selling last year, I guess... would have given the buyer more time to set a site up. Not sure about the $ vs pound aspect, though.

Oh, no doubt about the timing, but I only picked it up in late January and then got strung along a couple of times by an unnamed auction house.

I'm convinced about the $ vs pound if only because when I view the list of Sedo auctions, the pound ones "initially" stand out as lower in my mind.

I think I'll do a survey on this at some point. :)

yes,i would say £s rather than $s, it's a psycholocical thing
Especially with a .co.uk
