Following this year’s member elected director election, we are pleased to welcome Anne Taylor to the Nominet Board. Anne will join the Board at the end of today’s AGM, for a three-year term.

Thanks to all the candidates who took part in this year’s election.

Having served his three-year term, Volker Greimann steps down today.

Are registrars disillusioned with the direction Nominet are taking, or just disinterested?

I would hope if they were disillusioned that they would place a vote, so I'd guess just disinterested, they have their discount and that's their only reason for membership.

Are the minutes of Nominet board meetings available to the public, because actually being able to see what people say and do after they are elected is as important as which person gets voted in?

Also, because since this is the UK's namespace, it's right and proper that these meetings are transparent.

Was broadly as expected on the AGM thread. Talk about direction, talk about how great things are going and moves/expansion plans. Looking at cyber and other stuff they are getting into. Domains side was pretty light IMO. If you were registered for the AGM you should get sent over the slides/have access to the recordings.

Pricing - the question wasn't asked properly by the person in the room who was asking Qs that webcast members were posing. She fixated on a price increase to GBP 4... which was confusing. Basically no recollection of price change discussions/mentions.

Discounts / Paired Pricing - (if you own the .co.uk and .uk pair will there be discount ) - the crux of the Q was skipped over. What was answered is that they will be announcing their next promotion/offer soon, and they recognise there hasn't been one for a while. The free .uk was touched upon (offer where you could exercise right of reg for free), but skimmed past.

Yes it was difficult with only 3 members present (including me) in the room itself but we managed to get all the questions asked.

Thanks to @wizard who asked the rest online. I still can’t believe Nominet denied they had said they were consulting on a price rise at the registrar conference (Wotton House) which they did.

As for board minutes...

At the AGM the chairman said he was now running a PLC type board so much of the board discussions are ‘commercially sensitive’.

So that is why you only get a cut down board report now once every few months with the commercial stuff removed:
