Hi Acorn,

We are trying to make Acorn registration better. Hence we are starting with small UI UX updates.

Such as, adding some more fields (website, company name, and my favourite: Preferred Domain Registrar) that helps us determine if a user is a spam > so that forum remains clean.

We are also highlighting notices and changing notice texts so that it is better visible for users and users can easily reach us. Also, there is "Support" tab on the top navigation to reach us, and get support from us.

The image below shows the support system. You can post a thread (that will be between you and us only), and ask for help and support. We hope to help you with your queries and concerns with this update :D

Great job!!

A little background: every other day we get a support thread from new members on DNForum, and we also have a few new account signups that are initially declined (mostly because they look spammy) and then need to be reviewed and fixed.

So we decided that Acorn would also benefit from a better support system, especially for new users who are trying to sign up and run into difficulties during the process.

Spammers are getting more and more sophisticated, and it can sometimes be hard to tell who is who. Additional fields like “Preferred Domain Registrar” help us moderate new signups much more efficiently.

The green colour for notices is to make sure that new users see the message :) and that their account will be approved, and what they should do if the account doesn’t get approved.

The changes themselves are quite basic, but there was some planning, a few friendly arguments over 2–3 days, and more testing until we both agreed on what should be the best possible user experience for a new signup, including email checking and testing.

Great job, @Admin!!

p.s. Prashanna, please also check the auto-message so it includes the link to the Introductions section :) Thank you

The addition should make spammers less prominent on the forum :)
