This thread is currently number 2 in Google for "choc d'amour".

For a short time my blog had Google Position 1 for phrases like Choc d'Amour and Cocoa Electric, but I've now been well and truly owned by other sites.

I had done the WHOIS for these aswell, wasn't going to register them though, I took a more cunning approach, I realised that the study which Margaret mentioned in the "You're hired" show didn't have its name

Been there, done that and just like Newport - South Wales, i defintely won't be going back

I seriously think when I have kids that part of the naming decision will rest on how cheaply I can get their domain names

and chances are their middle names will have to be org, just to make things a bit easier.

I should have pointed this out earlier - "choc" has the meaning "shock" in French. Same word, same pronunciation, different spelling.

So "choc d'amour" would not convey "chocolates" to a Frenchman - "smitten" might be closer to the meaning.


I just found an "inverse" example of this crossed language concept - bought a jar of GranArom coffee in Lidl. Fortunately, it does not smell of "little old lady"!
