Hi all

Got an email from Fasthosts a few weeks ago saying that I can now change the owner details on a .co.uk domain via the control panel. I have a domain hosted which i bought off ebay and the w***** who sold it me still hsnt sent his transfer docs.

so i thought id give it a try. and true to their word, it does registrant name is now MWT Online Ltd.

is this now the case for .co.uk? no more filling out paperwork?

any feedback appreciated! it will make me more comfortable when buying .co.uk off places like ebay.

Have you checked the whois at Nominet as opposed to just taking what they display in their control panel?

If it is a connection to nominet, I'm pretty sure it will only allow you to change contact details (address and tel no) but will not allow you to change "registered owner" details.

freds right, check whois.

The other thing is it might just be allowing you to change details in fasthosts database for the name and not nominet.

They have offered this for a while if you email them a form but only to update address details etc not owner name, I presume letting you do it through the control panel is part of the new upgrade they are doing? Handy and it does update Nominet as well but alas the owner details still need to be done using paperwork.

I am in a similar boat with a domain (also from ebay) with the seller not filling in the forms. Been going on for 3 months now and I am getting tired of asking.

Is there a procedure with Nominet for this or is it just lost money ?
