do you use godaddy for .co.uk domains?

Hi there,

I'm curious - why do you guys use godaddy to store your .co.uk and .uk domains?

.. I recently bought a .co.uk domain, and it was transferred into my GD account and I just can't see the reason why it is better than 123reg (well, except the phone/email support).

... I thought I would ask this question here before migrating it to my 123reg account.

hmm.. godaddy isn't an option for me as they are too expensive and still haven't sorted the .uk offers (they offer .uk domains that can't be sold).

+ nominet works as a charm with 123

godaddy is having one of those uk advertisement splurges but it's still a US / com centric company. 123-reg is too large for its own good. Charges £10 for a tag change... thieving b*(stards!

I recommend daily as a decent uk registrar that understands the uk namespace.

Generally, the big US registrars do not handle ccTLDs quite well. Each ccTLD has its own peculiarities.
Nodaddy is not good place for .ca either...

I believe Daily now charge around £5 for a tag change which is a huge shame, as I've always recommended them (still will, but slightly less).

I have never had any problems with Godaddy in registering 200+ domains?, am i missing something?.

I'm shipping out of godaddy, their social media guy openly told me there is a change on godaddy policy.

It isn't intended to be a customer firesale by way of killing retention, however the policy change is now draw the customers in with low prices and then put the prices back to normal.

The same social media monkey had no idea how much .com renewals are charged and even questioned the amount to hit my credit card.

I'm off to name.com $9-10 renewals vs godaddys £10.10p.

They also lack the back end programming to automate the "difficult" nominet systems (their words) so things have to be done manually.
