I have recently purchased a .co.uk domain name which is a mis-spelling of a one word financial term. Having checked on GWT I found that there are quite a few searches for the mis-spelt version.

49,500 / 8,100 local (Broad)
4,400 / 210 local (Exact)

Just wondered what other forum member's views were, on purchasing domain names with are mis-spellings?

As an affiliate lead/sales generator. You could find it proves worthwhile, with a proportionate resale value. As a pure domain selling opportunity without some income stats I don't see them holding any value.

I also understand from previous threads there's been some discussion in the past on how google and the like treat misspelt domains. Not being a developer myself, I can't recall how that particular conversation played out.
