So, as a group we all seem to have or aspire to the finer things in life and the associated luxuries and toys.

Private number plates seem to go hand in hand with the above, so who amongst us has a private plate?

I do and it makes me smile every day!

I have ROB 972 :)
However it's a bit of a cheat because here you pay €50 and you can have whatever you want in 3 letters provided it's not taken. You could also pay €500 and have ROBERT for example.

Reading this has just reminded me i need to renew my retention document or get it put on the car

Mine is L333 SUG
LEE SUGGITT

Yeah I have a couple: W 20SAK (closest i could get to W ROZAK) & M3 RUV on the Caddy (will be on my E30 M3 one day)

I'm sure this question comes up at least once a year

I had one, then someone crashed into me and wrote my car off and i failed to remove the number plate from the car before it was scrapped so it's one to DVLA graveyard and shall never see itself on a car again

My ideal 5 character plate is £125000 ? Nah! I'll pass for now! Next 6 letter look alike is some £3800! That'll buy that software license I want for that site!

I have as near as damned it my surname.

Dropped far too money on this, but since S T Jackson wouldn't sell me the .co.uk at a sensible price (but has subsequently sold it), I took my budget to a dvla auction.

I picked up MO12LEY and my surname is MORLEY, its on a Honda Civic which had to get as well to put the plate on.

Edit: Hammer price was £4k, end price incl commission, auction fees, vat etc was around £5.3k.
