Does anyone know if there's any way to opt out from having your domain details listed at domaintools.com or at the very least to stop them showing personal whois details all over the place.

Also, can anyone tell me how to stop the name intelligence inc bot from spidering my sites? - it was on my domains for over 5 hours yesterday!

Cheers, Grant

DomainTools is only a third party displaying legally-mandated public information. It is not possible to directly remove all personal information from the system. Please contact the ICANN registrar listed on your record for information regarding further privatization. The ICANN registrar may be able to assist you in changing or swapping unlisted numbers or other private contact information.

Guess thats a no then, w*nkers.

That crew are heading for a fall. There are complaints everywhere.

Nominet are aware of it and I have been privately assured will be dealing with the abuse of the .uk whois.

what is it they are doing that is out of order?

sorry haven't really been through their site and not 100% up on nom's T&C's

yep that certainly isn't good, :(

not good for me, people can see the cr@p I bought over the last 2 years. :-D

I guess all we can do is leave it to nominet

I'm sure there's a quick way of shutting them down, contact whoever hosts them and tell them you will sue them unless they stop hosting the illegal content. Unofrtunately I aint even got a farthing and aint sold any domains yet this year so good luck to you.

Don't be too keen to knock them. An independant log of whois data dating back to 1996 is a fantastic research tool if you know what you are doing with it. ;)

Nice coincidence that domaintools.com came into existance on the same day that Nominet started (1st August 1996)!!
