Hi, im waiting on a .co.uk dropping, the details are:

Renewal date: 18-Jan-2007
Last updated: 01-Feb-2007
*** This registration has been SUSPENDED. ***

When will it be available for registration?

Thanks,
Damien.

Drop Dates for your domain will be either 20-Apr-2007 or 27-Apr-2007

Sorry for the newbie question but why do .uk domains have two drop dates?

its usualy 92 days or 99 days

no one has disclosed to me how to spot the difference, aparantly you can
tell from the WHOIS report

If a name is registered directly with nom or detagged you get a week less. Theres no prenoms left.. and when there was they dropped pretty much manual when the button pusher came out, apart from a spell of about 4 months after xmas 2006 when they dropped like clockwork.

Yes if it says "No agent listed" in the whois then it will drop on 92 days.

Pre-noms don't drop on 92 days they drop any time Nominet decides to release them. See ani.co.uk

I have noticed a few more pre-noms recently: http://www.deleting.co.uk/deleting/...=250&submit=Search&formtype=advanced&search=1

I suppose if you think about it depending on how many domains were registered with Nominet before Aug 1996 and how many people forget to renew them in the months/years to come there will always be prenom drops?

The old style prenoms were those with no 'contract' with nominet i.e those registered before xx-1996 and not renewed, or would not renew (ie new Nominet cntract).

Those with the registered on date now abide by the Nominet 2yr renewal date as well as the policy/procedure.

By the nature of renewals some will trickle through, but not the prenom landrush of before. They've all gone... mostly do the same people, for the reasons all here know.
