Father's Day is coming up, and I had a .uk-related thought.

A lot of strong .uk names are tied to family businesses, local services, and long-term projects. Some domains are more than just inventory; they represent years of work.

If you had to pass your best .uk domain to your kids or family one day, would they know why it matters and how to keep it safe?

Renewal dates, registrar access, DNS, email, and a simple note about whether the name should be kept or sold can make a big difference.

Would you pass your best .uk domain to family, or would you rather sell before that point?

I've got our family surname in com, and uk's. Will defo be setting them up the uk versions... one each. If nothing else, its great to just have your name as an email. [email protected] or whatever. Ive got the com currently.

will also be letting them know how to deal with it.

I like that approach. Giving each person a clear use for it, and also telling them how to manage it later, is probably the best way to make sure it does not get forgotten.
don't think they would know how to safeguard these..
Yes, exactly... For people who have never worked with domains, it is not obvious at all... :)
