I've just saw again on the news the story about the dodgy jockeys, and at the winning post they have shown all day, there is a huge advert for a web site called freebetting.co.uk

Typical blog/affiliate site and wordpress to boot.

Just thought I would mention it as its a good domain advertised in the right place.

Well done those people I say.

It has been on sky news, 1 jockey banned for 12 years I think, a lady for 2 years and someone called quinn for 6 months.

Betting scams and holding horses back it said.

The freebetting was at the winning post of one of the races, looked really good, I only checked it out as it seemed in a great position for a domain that sounded unusual lol

Thats what caught my eye, I thought wow that must have cost a fortune, and couldnt not work out how free betting would work.

As i said earlier, good to see a site similar to lots of ones I have seen on here doing so well.

Think I will have to stick to a banner at the schools egg and spoon race with my budget lol

They advertise at a fair few courses. I've seen their winning post ad countless times. I can only think that they must get so many people signing up that it makes it worthwhile? That's the benefit of having a memorable name I guess. That's partly why I bought outsider .co.uk .

freebets / co / uk used to advertise all over the place 4-5 years ago, at Cheltenham / Grand National at the courses on huge screens etc it's not that new tbh but I still think it's a great way to market.

FreeBetting.co.uk have been advertising on course for a good couple of years now. Ideal domain to do it with, really. Race course advertising, sponsoring races (which freebetting.co.uk do a lot of - http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=e...pl=18113l21712l0l21768l24l11l0l0l0l0l0l0ll0l0) and such, isn't as expensive as you'd probably imagine. Carlise Racecourse, for example, quoted me £1,000 for a 32ft x 4ft hoarding in the home straight for 12 months.

More often than not it'll be rolled into an overall package which includes hospitality etc at a meeting or two.

i saw the freebetting site advertised on racing channel at a mates house
was allover track
it works as you cannot forget domain
surprised how cheap rates are tbh

apparently tv adverts themselves have come right down as so many channels

explains the interest on freebettings.co.uk :)

Smart idea.

Free bets can be big money for affiliates. If you send decent traffic to a bookie they'll give you a lifetime 40% share of player loss. Ie a fair chunk of money.

With that said, the free bet market is pretty oversaturated so it'd be hard to break into it right now.

Caz eggandspoonrace.co.uk is FTR

I have seen that ad for about the last 2 years now, I guess anything with a ROI that's bigger than the outlay will keep going until it runs its course.

Pun intended?
