I had assumed it was a contraction of 'sell domain', 'se-do'.

It's a nice idea, but it's not actually "news" in the usual sense. It's more of a suggestion than a news item.

So what sedo want to do is act as a broker for all the 1 char .com domain names and offer everyone a chance to bid?

I'm guessing this will be on a commision basis?, nice work if you can get it
